LDAR (Leak Detection and Repair) is a required program at many natural gas and industrial facilities, using optical gas imaging (OGI) or EPA Method 21 to find and document leaks. Requirements come from federal standards including NSPS OOOO, OOOOa, and OOOOb, from EG OOOOc through state plans, from NESHAP, and from state programs that are often more stringent. Most sites fall under more than one. IES determines what applies, then designs and runs the program, including surveys, repair tracking, and record keeping.

You work directly with senior staff, not a rotating bench of junior analysts. IES also builds and runs its own field instrumentation, including custom high-volume samplers and leak detection equipment, so the work is grounded in actual field measurement rather than templated reporting.
